Modern Slavery Statement

Modern Slavery Statement for Man with Van Shirley

This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps Man with Van Shirley is taking to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains. As a transport and moving services provider, we recognise our responsibility to uphold the highest standards of ethical conduct and to ensure that people are treated with dignity and respect in every part of our business.

Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy

Man with Van Shirley has a clear and uncompromising zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, forced labour, child labour, human trafficking and all forms of exploitation. We will not knowingly engage with or support any organisation involved in these practices. This commitment applies to our own operations, our workers, contractors, and every supplier that provides goods or services to our business.

We aim to foster a culture in which all workers feel empowered to raise concerns about unethical practices, confident that they will be taken seriously and addressed promptly. Any breach of this policy will be treated as a serious matter that may result in disciplinary action, including termination of contracts or working arrangements where appropriate.

Our Business and Supply Chain

Man with Van Shirley provides man with a van and related moving and transport services. Our supply chain primarily includes vehicle leasing and maintenance providers, fuel suppliers, equipment and packaging providers, IT and software services, and occasional use of subcontracted drivers and labour.

We recognise that modern slavery risks can arise at any level of the supply chain, particularly where there are complex labour arrangements or temporary and subcontracted work. We are committed to understanding these risks and working actively to reduce and eliminate them.

Supplier Standards and Audits

We expect all suppliers and subcontractors to share our commitment to preventing modern slavery. As part of our approach, we are implementing supplier standards that require:

All labour to be voluntary and freely chosen, with no use of forced, bonded or involuntary labour; fair and lawful working hours and conditions; wages and benefits that meet or exceed legal minimums; and respect for the rights and safety of workers at all times.

We will conduct periodic reviews and, where appropriate, audits of key suppliers and subcontractors. These may include requests for information on labour practices, site visits, and verification of policies and procedures. Where we identify potential risks or non-compliance, we will work with the supplier to develop corrective actions and monitor progress. If significant issues are not resolved within a reasonable timeframe, we reserve the right to suspend or end the relationship.

Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing

Man with Van Shirley encourages all workers, contractors, suppliers, and members of the public to report any concerns related to modern slavery, exploitation, or unethical labour practices connected with our business or supply chain. Reports can be made in person to management or through any established internal reporting systems.

We will handle all concerns sensitively and, where possible, confidentially. We do not tolerate any form of victimisation or retaliation against individuals who raise concerns in good faith. All reports will be investigated promptly, and appropriate action will be taken where issues are identified.

Training and Awareness

To support our zero-tolerance approach, we are working to raise awareness of modern slavery among our staff and key contractors. This includes explaining what modern slavery is, common signs of exploitation, and how to report concerns. Management is responsible for ensuring that our policies are communicated clearly and embedded in day-to-day decision making, supplier selection, and contract management.

Review and Continuous Improvement

This Modern Slavery Statement will be reviewed annually by the leadership of Man with Van Shirley, or more frequently if there are significant changes in legislation, business operations, or identified risks. The review will consider the effectiveness of our actions, feedback from staff and suppliers, and any incidents or concerns raised over the period.

We are committed to continual improvement in our approach to tackling modern slavery and human trafficking. As our business and supply chains evolve, we will refine our policies, strengthen our due diligence processes, and work collaboratively with partners to promote fair and ethical labour practices throughout our operations.
